The New Women’s Project
Since its founding in 1977, the New Museum has embraced diverse voices and visions, and has continued to redefine an expanded field of culture. Under the new creative direction of Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne, DKNY has partnered with the New Museum to amplify the institution’s long-standing and ongoing advocacy for women artists.
This partnership—titled The New Women’s Project—provides support for exhibitions by five women artists. The exhibitions feature the first solo New York museum exhibitions by artists Nicole Eisenman, Goshka Macuga, Cally Spooner, Andra Ursuta, and Beatriz Santiago Muñoz.
On the all-female lineup of the exhibition, Artistic Director of the New Museum Massimiliano Gioni stated: “When we planned these exhibitions, we simply sought to celebrate some of the greatest artists of today, regardless of their gender, and yet our choices attracted attention. Clearly there are still glass ceilings to be shattered, and we are thrilled to continue to do so with DKNY’s partnership.”
