Good news! Joe’s Pub, the Public Theater’s nonprofit music venue, opened back up on Tuesday revealing a spiffy new makeover. Go check out the renovated digs tonight with the country mouse-city mouse meeting of the CMA Songwriter Series hosted by Bob DiPiero Price featuring Billy Currington, David Lee Murphy, and Scotty Emerick. (Perchance none of those names ring a cowbell for even the most diehard Dixie Chicks fans, but it’s good to occasionally dabble with non-Pandora-recommended music that’s just like all the other music you already like.) Over the years, Joe’s Pub has been launching point for everyone from the late-great Amy Winehouse to Adele, Joss Stone, and Alicia Keys. Tonight’s collab between the Country Music Association showcases some of Nashville’s finest songwriters as a part of the space’s grand old re-opening week.
