Real-estate quandaries aside, earlier this week, "Alex Schibli, a retired Port Authority employee and City Island resident who swims to Rat Island regularly,” became the proud owner at a public auction reported Curbed.com. "In fact, [he told the Post], he’s already in the habit of cleaning up after people who have parties there (Now he's also entitled to yell, "Get off my island!”).
