Bill Cunningham New York’s trailer has finally hit the Internet. The documentary follows Bill Cunningham (of course), the 81-year-old New York Times photographer and street style pioneer. The film’s director Richard Press says he first approached Cunningham about the project in back in 2000: "He just pooh-poohed the idea. He couldn’t entertain it. He said, ‘Why me? There’s no subject here.’ Anna Wintour, who Cunningham has been photographing since she was a teenager, begs to differ: The editor likens being ignored by his lens to "death,” and states matter-of-factly "We all get dressed for Bill." Intrigued? The film premieres at New York City's Film Forum on March 16.
