This Sunday kicks off a three-night residency at Le Poisson Rouge for L.A.-based singer-songwriter Jon Brion. Since heading to the West Coast, the multi-instrumentalist has become known for his big-name collabs with musicians like David Byrne and Fiona Apple (who he just performed with on September 24) and his scores for indie flicks like "Punch Drunk Love” and Miranda July’s "The Future.” According to New York magazine, "his L.A. residency had surprise drop-ins like Elvis Costello and Aimee Mann, so expect some famous and familiar faces.” Given that Elvis Costello will be in town this week playing a show on Saturday night uptown at the United Palace, who knows maybe you’ll actually get an Elvis sighting of your own.
